Application for Construction Permits on Private Property

DCRA now lets you complete your building permit application online. After you fill in the online form, please print it out and get the required signatures.

Bring the completed application along with your plan drawings and other supporting documentation to DCRA at 1100 4th St SW for processing. Additional documents that you need to fill out in advance and bring with you to DCRA are found here. Please print and fill out the forms before submitting your application.

Please note: You must fill in all required fields identified by an asterisk(*) before you can save the application.

You have 30 days from the day you create the application to update any information (except the property address). To update or reprint your application, you will need the property address, and the Online Intake Tracking number. The tracking number is generated after you complete the application. It appears on the top right-hand corner of the completed application.
